Double Luxury Suites
A total of seven double tents that all provide the ultimate accommodation in Samburu. Spread out along a rocky ridge looking down over the Ewaso Nyiro River, each one commands spectacular views out across the Samburu landscape to distant hills beyond. A feeling of space, a sense of being immersed in nature and an air of serenity and seclusion permeates each tent. Wide open vistas, cool polished floors and private verandas with plunge pools and sun loungers make every room a tempting space in which to spend time relaxing. Enormous bathrooms, four poster king-sized beds and ample lounging space come as standard. Each of the double tents is subtly different in design, but all share the same amenities and incredible panoramas. Tent 1 is furthest from the main mess area along a winding gravel pathway, its plunge pool facing downriver. Tent 2 is slightly closer and has a roof top terrace. Tent 3 is a little closer still to the main mess tent. In the other direction, Tents 6 and 7 are the furthest rooms from the central area, again along winding gravel pathways, followed by Tent 5. Tent 4 is the nearest room to the central dining area and is therefore best suited to guests with less mobility. This room also has a roof terrace. Tents 4 and 6 are able to be configured as twin rooms as well as doubles. All the tents are spacious enough to accommodate a baby cot or an additional third bed for a child if required, although this must be prearranged when booking your stay.
Riverside Family Suite
Tents 8 and 9 at Sasaab provide the ultimate Samburu family suite. Perched a few metres above the sandy banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, they are the lowest tents and command sweeping riverside views out into the wilderness. The accommodation is more than spacious, with large double and twin ensuite bedrooms connected by a breezy open sided lounge area in the middle and an expansive wooden deck out to the front. There are ample seating areas for relaxing and a delightful plunge pool looking out over the river.
Wake up to the sights and sounds of nature right from your bed – the front of each tent can be completely opened up so you can gaze out onto nature whilst enjoying a morning tea or coffee in bed. Enjoy high levels of seclusion and a feeling of being totally immersed in the wilderness in your own private villa. The large deck is perfect for private dining if this is required and there is also a separate drive-in entrance to this tent complex should groups wish to avoid walking down the winding gravel pathway from the main dining area.
The family suite is also ideally suited to groups of friends who want to be together. The central deck, plunge pool and lounge are beautiful spaces for socialising and relaxing with loved ones.
Exclusive use of game drive vehicle is included for all guests staying in the Riverside Family Suite.
Poolside Family Suite
Tents 10 and 11 make up a stunning Samburu family suite. Perched on the cliff not far from the main lodge horizon pool, it offers serenity and seclusion with sweeping views out into the wilderness. The accommodation is spacious, comprising of one double and one twin bedroom each with their own bathrooms, connected by a central island within a generously sized plunge pool and entrance area. There is ample space for reading, birdwatching, practising yoga and general relaxation. Private dining can be arranged upon request (subject to availability).

Please note, the Poolside Family Suite is reached via a winding stairway which descends from the main reception area. As such, it is not suitable for guests with mobility challenges. Due to the unique positioning of the private plunge pool, which is unfenced and on the same level as the bedrooms, we do not recommend this suite for guests with very young children.
